no means do I consider myself versed in the world of rap. That's
one reason this review is so short. Austin has a viable rap/hip-hop
scene that is often overshadowed by blues, country, and rock bands.
On occasion, I stumble across an artist that makes an impression.
I have no doubt that most rap is more complicated than I perceive
it, but I do wonder how many artists sell CDs more because of
their image than their talent.
Bavu
Blakes stands out in my mind because of his intelligent lyrics
and method of delivery. He is no amatuer. He doesn't rely solely
on shock value. He isn't about drowning out his vocals with an
overabundance of bass. He's raw talent. He's what I respect about
rap.
