The
Small Stars - More of the same would have been fine,
but I discovered that these guys kicked it up a notch. Tracks
like "Love is Grand" and "Sweet Sweet Sweet"
present a unique problem for these guys. They will get out and
eventually find a large audience... read

Guy
Forsyth - Love Songs: For and Against is arguably
Guy Forsyth's best CD yet. But some things can't be argued. 1)
Without a doubt, this is Guy's most political CD to date. 2) Love
Songs has the widest audience appeal of any CD offered by
him so far. And 3), this CD will likely get Guy the recognition
that he deserves... read

Guy
Forsyth - In the middle of one of his songs, he walked
off the stage, left his microphone behind and began belting out
the lyrics as he worked his way up to the bar. Guy demonstrated
that he had one powerful voice and he can project it. He sat down
and the bar and had a drink while the band went into an extended
instrumental set... read

Dawn
Over Zero - Fortunately for fans, Dawn Over Zero came
out swinging with their first release. Rather than simply sounding
like a band with promise, they sound like seasoned professionals.
They'd fit neatly in someone's CD collection between Nickleback
and Puddle of Mudd... read

Hail - Although there is some variety, the CD definitely
fits in the country category. It is not a cross-over collection

talent... read

Austin
is not called the 'Live Music Capital of the World' for nothing.
On any given night of the week, you can choose from dozens of
bands performing live. At Joe's Generic Bar, you're likely to
hear a blues/rockabilly band playing for tips. Or, you can check
out some jazz at the Elephant Room or Cedar Street. You may
even be adventurous enough to watch Sniffy play at the 710.
Whatever your tastes, odds are you'll stumble upon a band that
will get you groovin'.
