This image was created for a project in a multimedia class. The project required that we scan at least one 3 dimensional object, one image from a magazine, and one photo. The map and boat were scanned from Men's Journal magazine. The photos are of me as a child and on a recent trip to the Virgin Islands. The shells, mask, snorkel, and fins were items I found around the house. The snorkel and mask posed unique obstacles because they were scanned against a black background. I had to give the illusion that these items were transparent without changing the opacity of the opaque parts, such as the black plastic base of the snorkel. The entire image was created in Photoshop. If I haven't mentioned it before, Photoshop rocks!
